Innovation through governance, collaboration and openness

The DHCF Mission

DHCF aims to make digital health infrastructure as reliable and accessible as essential utilities, laying a foundation for seamless health technology that benefits patients, health and care professionals, digital professionals, and policymakers alike.

The Problem

Digital health faces challenges impacting patient access, system safety, data integrity, and policy effectiveness. Patients encounter limited access to digital tools, while health and care ecosystem stakeholders, including both clinical and digital professionals, face inefficiencies and inconsistencies in the current systems

Our Solution

DHCF envisions an ecosystem where digital health ‘just works,’ allowing time and resources to be invested in patient-professional relationships and technological advancements. We support “custodians” who develop sustainable solutions, in alignment with European digitilisation standards and values.

Our publication library sets out a practical case for an open, sustainable digital health ecosystem.

Our aims

Empower Patients

Enable patient access to digital health data and tools for preventive and proactive care, addressing issues of trust and safety.

Support Health and Digital Ecosystem Stakeholders

Deliver efficient, user-friendly solutions that simplify workflows, reduce administrative burden, and enhance job satisfaction for health and care professionals, as well as streamline processes for digital professionals designing and deploying technology.

Strengthen Policymaking

Enable policymakers to focus on value and improvement, rather than managing operational details. By coordinating standards and technology integration, DHCF allows for impactful, outcome-driven policies, leaving the complexities of ecosystem alignment to our foundation.

Promote Open Standards

Encourage the use of open, interoperable frameworks to reduce market fragmentation and ensure quality technology solutions.
